Hello there. If you guys still remember, I have posted a small introduction about grease traps before. Haven't read it yet? Click here! But after this post, I see there is still many who don't really know about grease trap. So today I'm gonna answer a few common questions about grease traps to let more people know what it really is and how important having a grease trap is.

Is That Grease A Problem?


Yes! Grease is a problem for plumping because it will collect and create blockage in pipes. This blockage will lead to damage not only pipes system, but also will cause damage to property, the environment and etc.


What Is Grease Trap Design For?


Grease trap design for trapping all of the greases. A grease trap will catch FOG (fats, oils and grease) waste, allowing only waste water to pass through the pipes. Once this wastewater has been treated well, it can be treated and released into the ground.

What Size of Grease Trap Do I Need?

The size of a grease trap is depending on the amount of FOG (fats oils, and grease) waste. Water is wastewater also a factor in the consideration process when determining the size and flow rate of waste water flowing through the grease trap.

How Often To Clean A Grease Trap

For the use more effective of grease trap, it should be cleaned when the grease sludge is filled by 25% of the tank. I have posted before about this, if you haven't read it yet, check it out here! This post has shown a few photos comparing a grease trap that is full of FOG and after it is cleaned.
